These pictures are from the 1999 Rubicon Trail Jeep Jamboree (near Lake Tahoe, California). It is one of the best 4-wheel drive trails in the country. People bring their Jeeps from all over the world to cross the Rubicon.

Everyone seemed to have a great time out on the trail, and ratings for this Jamboree ranged from four to eight. These ratings offered participants at every skill level the opportunity to comfortably 'wheel, and push the 'wheeling limits. The weather for the 2003 Jamboree was intermittently cold and rainy, making trail conditions a bit more challenging.

The Event Director for the National Jeep Jamboree 2004 is Paul Kelly, the current vice president of the club. Paul has had many roles within the club and has been a recreational four wheel driver for over 15 years.
Jeep Jamboree
Every Jamboree trail is rated from 1 (easiest) to 10 (most difficult). As an example, trails rated 1-3 feature obstacles that are easy to navigate and may not even require continual use of 4WD. On the other hand, trails rated 8-9 feature deep mud holes and serious rock climbing, resulting in a greater likelihood of getting stuck. Trails rated 10 are those that take place on the most demanding off-highway trip in the country - the Rubicon Trail - and are not recommended for Jeep Liberty, Cherokee, or Grand Cherokee models.

The town of Murphy serves as the headquarters for one of the most popular and colorful Jeep Jamborees which is located in the Great Smoky Mountains. Spring and Autumn in the Nantahala and Cherokee National Forests is awe inspiring. Old logging roads provide numerous challenges for both novice and seasoned off-road enthusiasts. You don't have to wait for the Jeep Jamboree to enjoy the off road fun. The Upper Tellico ORV Area is famous for some of the best 4x4 trail riding in all of America and challenge offroaders of all experience levels. Trail names like Guardrail, Helicopter Pad, Slick Rock and School Bus all conjure up visions of adventurous steep hills and adrenaline pumping fun. The Tellico Area is a fee access area.
