Skid Row's Ruby - 4 Wheel Drive & Sport Utility Magazine
Some people have a special knack for building tough trail rigs. Engineer and entrepreneur Eric Koote, owner of Skid Row Automotive, built this 03 Jeep Rubicon to showcase his tough and dependable Jeep body armor and skidplates. The Jeep Rubicon is perhaps one of the most trail-capable production vehicles to roll off a production line, with its low-ratio T-case, Dana 44s front and rear, and air lockers. Its only downfall is the lack of ground clearance. With a few modifications, though, the vehicle becomes a quite capable trail machine. DIFFLOCK.com - JEEP RUBICON
A direct descendent of the "original" Jeep vehicle more than 60 years ago, Wrangler possesses a heritage unique to the Jeep brand - often imitated, but never replicated. Jeep vehicles started as an idea - an idea born out of the need of a country to out-mobilize its adversaries and to liberate those who were captive. Conceived in 1940, the vehicle that later defined the sport-utility category possessed unmatched competence and unflagging spirit. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon buyer clearly embraces off-road adventure with incredible zest. For this buyer, the premier off-road trails serve as a playground for providing the ultimate in exploration and challenge. The Jeep Wrangler is core to the Jeep brand's Jeep Jamboree program, one of the best known and longest running customer relationship programs in the industry. Since the early 1950's, Jeep owners and their families have participated in weekend four-wheel drive adventures called Jeep Jamborees.

2006 Hummer H1 Alpha: In the Autoblog Garage Day 4 - Autoblog ...
The H1 is not as capable as the Galendawagen or the Jeep Rubicon offroad - it's too damn big and heavy. The review actually mentions that he had trouble going on the jeep trails, as it was too wide (a common complaint from the grunts in Iraq on patrol in the city). The only way to make the no-live-axle trick work is to ruin the functionality of the vehicle by making it wider than is feaseable and taking away a lot of interior room. Elegant? Try impractical. This thing is really a competitor to the Unimog, or should be. A great offroad commercial truck for fire departments, logging and mining operations and suchlike.
